<p id="tw-target-text"> Hello dear friends, today I will share a wonderful bag model with you, this bag that looks so elegant and stylish is so simple in making it. I&#8217;m sure you will want it again.</p>

<ul>
<li>Short strap – To carry the bag on the wrist or in the hand</li>

<li>Sling Strap – it has a drawstring closure, and you can wear the bag on your shoulder or turn it into a cross body bucket bag.</li>
</ul>

<p>In addition to the different strap options, we also added some colors to create a colorful bag and demonstrate the features of the chevron pattern.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">WHAT IS A BUCKET BAG?</h2>

<p>Due to their functionality and spacious and stylish look, bucket bags are making a big comeback in recent years. Why are they called bucket bags? The answer is simple: the bag looks like a bucket because it is cylindrical, has a deep interior, and has high, sturdy sides</p>

<p>Usually, most bucket bags on the market have a round or oval bottom, but this crochet bucket bag has a square bottom, and that’s the beauty of it because it’s so special and distinctive. Just like buckets, they do not necessarily have to have a round bottom, there are square buckets too</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-21.png" alt="" class="wp-image-713" width="402" height="342" srcset="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-21.png 686w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-21-300x255.png 300w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-21-71x60.png 71w" sizes="(max-width: 402px) 100vw, 402px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">CROCHET SUPPLIES</h2>

<p>In this crochet bag pattern, we used raffia yarn, but you can use any yarn you like. The total amount of yarn required is approximately one roll of raffia yarn, which is about 250 meters long. Raffia yarn makes the bag lighter and gives it more structure. Because it is stain-resistant, you only need to wipe it clean if you spill liquids on it.</p>

<p>We crochet this raffia yarn with a 3 mm crochet hook. This combination results in a crochet bag size of a 4.5″ square base and a height of 7″. The crochet tension gauge of 4″ x 4″ is approximately 16 sts x 8 rows of double crochet stitches. If you are using other yarn weights and crochet hooks, please take note that you might end up with different sizes of crochet bags.</p>

<p>Prepare 4 pieces of O or D rings if you want to crochet the yellow drawstring crochet bucket bag.</p>

<p>You will also need a tapestry needle, scissors, an iron to block the bag, and pliers to assemble the rings if you choose the rings option.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" src="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-22.png" alt="" class="wp-image-714" width="363" height="398" srcset="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-22.png 683w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-22-274x300.png 274w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-22-55x60.png 55w" sizes="(max-width: 363px) 100vw, 363px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">HOW TO CROCHET BUCKET BAG</h2>

<p>This bucket bag is simple and quick to crochet because it is mostly made up of tall crochet stitches, also known as double crochet stitches. The basic stitches used in this crochet pattern are:</p>

<ul>
<li>slip knot (sl knot)</li>

<li>chain stitch (ch)</li>

<li>slip stitch (sl st)</li>

<li>single crochet (sc)</li>

<li>half double crochet (hdc)</li>

<li>double crochet (dc) and its decrease and increase stitches.</li>
</ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" src="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-23.png" alt="" class="wp-image-715" width="352" height="284" srcset="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-23.png 677w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-23-300x242.png 300w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-23-74x60.png 74w" sizes="(max-width: 352px) 100vw, 352px" /></figure>

<p><strong>The Base</strong></p>

<p>This bucket bag is worked from bottom to top, so we must first crochet a square base for it before working our way up to the top of the bag and finishing with the strap. If you’ve ever crocheted solid granny squares, you’ll be familiar with the square base.</p>

<p>To begin, make a slip knot, then a chain stitch, and then slip stitch it to the first ch to form a foundation ring. This is a simple way to start a pattern that requires crocheting in rounds.</p>

<p>After you’ve made the foundation ring, start crocheting the first round pattern with 3 chain stitches to raise the stitch high enough for the following double crochet stitches. This 3-chain stitch counts as a double crochet stitch. Next, crochet two double crochet stitches into the foundation ring. This, along with the first 3-chain stitch, totals 3 dc stitches. Then 2 chain stitches to make the square’s corner chain space.</p>

<p>Repeat the “3-dc 2-ch” pattern three times more, then end the round with another three dc stitches and finish with a half double crochet (hdc) stitch into the first stitch of the round. This “horizontal” hdc represents two chain stitches, resulting in four chain-space corners for the round.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" src="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-24.png" alt="" class="wp-image-716" width="441" height="332" srcset="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-24.png 767w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-24-300x226.png 300w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-24-80x60.png 80w" sizes="(max-width: 441px) 100vw, 441px" /></figure>

<ul>
<li>Each round starts with a 3-chain stitch, which counts as 1 dc stitch.</li>

<li>Every round begins and ends at the square’s corner.</li>

<li>The square has four corner chain spaces.</li>

<li>Every corner chain space is filled with 2dc stitches, 2ch stitches, and 2dc stitches.</li>

<li>You crochet a dc stitch on every dc stitch from the previous round.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>The Body</strong></p>

<p>Once the base is finished, continue to crochet the bucket bag’s height. The chevron pattern is being built on the body, and the corners of the square base are now becoming the chevron’s peaks. Meanwhile, the valleys of the chevron are the midpoints between the corners.</p>

<p>On the first round of the body pattern, we begin to make decrement stitches to create the valleys of the chevron, which also serve as the bucket bag’s corners. During the first round, there are no obvious peaks and valleys of the chevron patterns yet to be seen.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" src="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-25.png" alt="" class="wp-image-717" width="353" height="313" srcset="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-25.png 687w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-25-300x266.png 300w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-25-68x60.png 68w" sizes="(max-width: 353px) 100vw, 353px" /></figure>

<p>The chevron becomes visible after the second round of the body pattern. If you crochet with a different color yarn, you will notice it right away.</p>

<p>You can crochet the bucket bag in a single color, as we did with the yellow bag, or you can add a chic vibe to it by using colorful yarn colors.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" src="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-26.png" alt="" class="wp-image-718" width="412" height="342" srcset="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-26.png 731w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-26-300x249.png 300w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-26-72x60.png 72w" sizes="(max-width: 412px) 100vw, 412px" /></figure>

<p>It is normal for the crochet bag to look wonky at this stage before blocking. Once blocked, the crochet fabric will be straightened out and will look just like our finished bag.</p>

<p>Finish the bag body by crocheting a round of single crochet stitches around the top edge of the crochet bag.</p>

<p><strong>The Straps</strong></p>

<p>As stated at the start of this pattern, there are two strap options that you can crochet. Short straps for carrying the bag on your wrist or in your hand. You can also make a long drawstring strap to wear over your shoulder or sling it cross-body.</p>

<p><em>Short Straps</em></p>

<p>After you complete the final round of the top edge, keep crocheting the short straps. Do not fasten off. Crochet a single crochet stitch from the first peak of the chevron to the second peak, then make the short strap. Skip the valley and proceed directly to the third peak to continue with the single crochet until the fourth peak. Make the strap again and finish the round by joining it to the first peak.</p>

<p>Crochet a round of slip stitches to finish the short strap bucket bag. Get the written pattern with all the details in the pattern section.</p>

<p><em>Sling Strap</em></p>

<p>The long sling strap is crocheted separately using a foundation chain and slip stitches. Attach two tassels to the bag’s strap to give it a stylish touch.</p>

<p>Add four rings to the bag’s peaks and thread the strap through them. To create a drawstring bucket bag, fasten the strap near the tassel to close the loop.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" src="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-27.png" alt="" class="wp-image-719" width="407" height="363" srcset="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-27.png 642w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-27-300x267.png 300w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-27-67x60.png 67w" sizes="(max-width: 407px) 100vw, 407px" /></figure>

<p><strong>Final Touch</strong></p>

<p>Once the crochet bag is finished, set your iron to a warm temperature and steam setting. Iron the bag lightly to block it into shape.</p>

<p>You may make a small fabric drawstring bag insert for the crochet bucket bag if you know how to sew. Alternatively, you can purchase one that fits the size.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" src="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-28.png" alt="" class="wp-image-720" width="413" height="353" srcset="https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-28.png 677w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-28-300x256.png 300w, https://amigurumi.bilgimerkezim.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/image-28-70x60.png 70w" sizes="(max-width: 413px) 100vw, 413px" /></figure>
